In club Photo shoot: July 10th 2010

Our weekly photo shoot's feature local photographers, models,
and designers - all our part to help perpetuate the seattle FALM (Fashion and lifestyle movement). Unfortunately our designer fell through this week, however we were still pleased to have Gabriel Chow of Gobo Photo and local models Harper Botorowicz and Mikaela Bird. Here's a couple of the pics...to see more please visit our facebook fan page under Allure Nightclub and Lounge or our website www.allurevipseattle.com. Other contacts: GoboPhoto: www.gobophotography.com, Harper Botorowicz: www.facebook.com/harper.botorowicz, Mikaela Bird: www.facebook.com/mikaela.bird

Featured DJ's: Lisa Pittman

Lisa hosted our private opening last Thursday (July 8th 2010) and got the peeps dancing with her blend of Vegas style mash-ups (think Top 40 Hip-Hop blended with a little Rock, and dash of Electro). It's no wonder, living in Vegas she's a resident at Tao, Lavo, and the Hard Rock's infamous Rehab. She's also played with headliners Lady Gaga and Kanye West. Voted as on the Las Vegas' top 10 DJ's we were happy to have her host our first night! For more information visit www.djlisapittman.com.

Fashion Inspiration: Hot on the Beach

Art, fashion, and the entertainment industry are constantly intertwined drawing inspiration from one another, and nothing says it better then Dennis Hoppers photo of Jane Fonda (titled "Target Practice) on the beach in Malibu (1965). Featured in this months Vogue (regarding his retrospective at L.A.'s MOCA) this certainly makes be wanna be one hot bad ass on the beach. Check out Hopper's other work for an artistic take and insider view of the movie industry proving that candid and "real" can be very HOT.

Fashion Trends: Pedro Lourenco

I realize that summer has just begun (maybe) for us Seattle-lites...however check out newcomer Pedro Lourenco's new fall line: this is just the kind of style Seattle can rock come stormy october...and still look hot!

The Brazilian was born from designer parents, turned professional at the age of 12, and just debuted at Paris Fashion week at 19. He has claimed Diana the Huntress and Architect Oscar Niemeyer as inspiration.

Where are you going to find this look in Seattle? Hmmm....might have to keep our eyes out for copycat designers showing up asap - that's good news for all of us who can't afford the custom price tags:)

Mission Statement

For a big city we sure act like a small town! It's time to spice things up a bit and get on the international map for cool - yes cool! We know everybody in Seattle is in a big race to prove how much they don't care about being cool (everyone is so above that here) because apparently that is what actually makes you cool in Seattle...But FYI: it doesn't. It makes you beige and boring and gives our city a really bad rap in the process.
Sorry but we are not a destination spot for those participating in the lifestyle we want to encourage and represent: beauty, artistry, and yes over-the-top fashion and living-out-lout-lifestyle. We would like to not send our jet-hopping European, NYC, LA and Miami friends running and whining about grunge, rain, coffee, birkenstocks, conservative voters, and some of the most constricting Liquor laws in the US! And we are only second behind the midwest in the fees we have to pay to get media stars to appear at events here - hey we even lost our professional Basketball team to Oklahoma or some other middle-of-nowhere state...very sad state of affairs here in the NW.
You can want to save the planet AND still look good while you are doing it. You can drink coffee AND champagne. You can be a responsible professional AND still go out to a nightclub.

....what we will actually be providing on our blog:

Anything we feel relevant to either representing our Allure brand & club, helping to grow the Seattle "fashion and lifestyle movement" (to be hereon referred to as the S-FALM), or anything else that subtly influences you to think how we want you to think:)

Have someone/something relating to any of this? Please send ideas, comments, links, etc. to be considered to allureseattleblog@gmail.com, if it fits we'll share it on our blog - we want to hear from you, and we want to support you Seattle! (but only if you're artistic, visionary, fashion oriented, have an interesting point of view, or just like to work hard and spend hard - "Debbie Downers" need not apply).

....and please no comments on our spelling or punctuation. This is a blog people - it's supposed to manifest naturally:)
